Installing WordPress on your 123 Reg server running Plesk

This article applies to 123 Reg servers running Plesk.

This article will explain how you can install WordPress on your server using Plesk 11.

Please note: this article was originally created for our previous generation of Virtual Private Servers. As such, these instructions may not be relevant to our current generation of Virtual Private Servers.

Log in to your Parallels Plesk Panel.

If you are logged into the power user console go to step 4, if you have logged into the Server Administration Panel click on the Domains link under Hosting Services in the left hand menu bar.

Click on the Open in Control Panel link next to the domain name you wish to install WordPress for.

Now you are in the Power User View, click on the Applications tab link next to the domain name you wish to install WordPress for.

Click on the All Available Applications section in the left hand menu.

Then in the Application search box type WordPress and press the Search button.

Click on the Install button for the WordPress instance called WordPress v3.X.X.

WordPress will then be downloaded for installation.

To continue the installation of WordPress tick the box I accept the terms of License Agreement and press the Next>.

Choose the location in which to install WordPress and select to use either the current user settings or manually enter your own admin user details. Then press the Install button to complete the installation process.

WordPress will now be installed on your server running Plesk.
