So says Richard Branson on his blog.
“Disruption is all about risk-taking, trusting your intuition and rejecting the way things are supposed to be” he goes on. Looking at Branson himself, other successful entrepreneurs, their characters and backgrounds there certainly seems to be something in it.
In the current economic climate we keep hearing that it is entrepreneurial spirit that will pull us back into the black and Branson was writing on the back of the launch of Disruptive Influence: The Entrepreneur Report a project from Virgin Media Pioneers, an online community designed to connect young entrepreneurial talent with some of the UK’s proven top business brains.
The report is an interesting read including findings like “Over half of young people have considered setting up their own business but less than one in ten have actually done so” and “Nearly a quarter of young Britons say their dream job would be to run their own business but worries about having the right contacts or experience are stopping many from achieving their ambitions”.
Meanwhile the Virgin Media Pioneers community already appears to be a thriving community. “Support, advice and guidance” are on offer from a variety of successful faces and budding business people. Almost a social hub for those young minds with business drive. There are inspirational videos and blogs too, so well worth checking out.
Do you gain inspiration from others who have been successful? Have you signed up to Virgin Media Pioneers?
