How do I install and activate a plugin?

This article will show you how you can install third-party plugins onto your WordPress package.

WordPress comes with over 56,000 different plugins that can be integrated into your site, including analytics, ecommerce and security functions. Simply follow these instructions to add and activate them.

Start by accessing your Managed WordPress dashboard. For details on how to do this, please read our Support article: How do I access my Managed WordPress dashboard?

From there, select Plugins from the left-hand menu.

You’ll now need to choose how to install your desired plugin. To install plugins from the store, choose the option Add New.

If you’d rather use a plugin that’s already on your computer, proceed to step 7 below.

Search for the plugin you wish to install using the provided field.

Once you’ve found it, select Install Now to complete the process.

Alternatively, if you’d rather use a plugin that’s already on your computer, select Upload Plugin.

From there, click Choose file and find the plugin you wish to use within your files. To ensure it is installed correctly, it should be uploaded as a ZIP file.

Once done, select Install Now to complete the process.

Now your plugins have been installed, you’ll need to activate them. From your dashboard, select Plugins and then choose Installed Plugins from the list of options.

Find the plugin(s) you wish to use and select Activate.
