No matter if you’re a designer, a programmer or a blogger, you probably need to use photos every day in your projects. While most commercial photos are not so expensive, there are times when you might not want to pay for photos when there are so many sites that offer copyright free images for download.

There are various sites where you can find lots of quality free images submitted by talented photographers. Usually, this is one of the methods they use to promote themselves and their work, so why not take advantage and save some money at the same time?

So, if you’re having a hard time finding some great resources for copyright free images to use in your blog post or design projects, then you’d better bookmark this page. I’ve put together a list of the top six most valuable free stock photos sites where you can download tens of high quality images. However, do make sure that you read the terms of use carefully as some sites might ask you to mention the source if you’re using them in commercial projects.

Flickr is another popular site and, as you probably know, one of the largest photography platform on the web. People mostly use it to share digital photos with the world but some of them are free to use in either commercial or non-commercial projects or both. So, be sure to check the license to ensure you’re allowed to download and use them in your projects.

Morgue File  also has a pretty good collection of copyright free images that you can use for both commercial and non-commercial projects. So, if you need a photo or a background image for a blog post, just use the search box to find your perfect free image.

Free Pixels is yet another site that’s worth checking out. It includes a decent gallery of free images organised in different categories.

EveryStockPhoto is a photo search engine that can save you lots of time as you won’t need to search through tens of sites to find your perfect image. This site indexes millions of free images from stock sites, thus increasing your chances of finding the image, drawing or vector you need for your design project.
