If, however, you’ve already purchased your domain, this can be done directly through your 123 Reg Control Panel.
Simply select the domain name you wish to protect and click Manage. You will then be taken to the Management page for your chosen domain. From there, select the option ‘Buy Domain Ownership Protection’ and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the checkout process.

How long can I buy Domain Ownership Protection for?
You can purchase Domain Ownership Protection for periods of anywhere between one to ten years.
However, we recommend that you purchase this service for the same, or on a similar, length as the domain you wish to protect. That way, you can renew both items together.
How does the 90-day holding period work?
Should the renewal process for your domain name fail for whatever reason (i.e. a failed payment), we will hold onto your domain for 90 days. This provides you with more time to pay for the renewal and reactivate your domain.
Can I remove Domain Ownership Protection?

However, once you have cancelled or disabled your DOP service, your domain will no longer benefit from identity protection, theft protection and guaranteed renewal.
If you have some time left on your package and decide that you’d like to reactivate it, you can do so from your Control Panel.
What information will be displayed for my domain names?
To ensure maximum privacy, we will display a proxy physical address, email address and phone number on the WHOIS database, instead of your own details.
Can I choose what information to display in the WHOIS database?
No. There are strict regulations on what information can be displayed. It is important for members of the public to be able to contact you if they have a question. The contactprivacy.com details ensure this is still possible.
How will I be contacted if my details are hidden?
If anyone wants to contact you regarding your domain name, they will need to complete a short form that must include their email address and their reason for contacting you. All this information will then be sent to the email address that’s associated with your domain. Your email address won’t be shared with them during this process.
