How technology can help micro businesses save 2 hours a week

What would you do with an extra two hours a week to spend on running your business? The chances are you’d focus on tasks that will grow your business and increase your revenue. But for many business owners the prospect of finding another two hours a week seems impossible. The chances are you’re already working flat out. After all, UK micro businesses are huge multi-taskers. From managing all of their company’s accounts through to generating new sales, micro businesses have huge time pressures placed upon them.

So is it really possible for micro businesses to find the time they need to concentrate on growth? Research from 123 Reg suggests it is.

123-reg conducted an online study of 1057 decision makers of businesses with one or two employees, commissioned by 123-reg and undertaken by YouGov. It found an overwhelming 63% of small business owners would like to increase their company’s productivity.

The survey also revealed that 59% of micro businesses waste up to ten hours a week on administration tasks, taking time from activity that could increase revenue and growth. Added to this, 65% of SMBs admitted to using outdated Microsoft Office technology, decreasing productivity by not taking advantage of latest benefits.

So clearly if you want to find extra time to focus on growing your business, the trick is not to put in more hours, but to make sure the hours you already work are used as efficiently as possible.
